Marceline and Marsha has been granted permission by Hunson Abadeer to organize the upcoming Abadeer Family Reunion. However, she soon loses focus of the important things, such as spending time together as a family enjoying each other's company, in her haste to put together extravagant activities.
The episode opens with Marceline, Hunson Abadeer, and Marsha in the Abadeer castle in the Nightosphere. Marceline and Hunson Abadeer are bringing old family heirlooms out of storage, while Marsha is sorting through dozens of RSVP's for the upcoming reunion sent from Abadeer family members all over Ooo and Aaa; she's particularly excited to see Marsh and her cousin again. Hunson is markedly surprised to hear that so many relatives will be coming and comments that they might need a bigger cider trough.
Seeing how many RSVP's they received from out-of-town relatives, Hunson Abadeer predicts the reunion preparations will keep him especially busy. Marceline, Marsha, and Finn offer their services, which Hunson happily accepts. Marsha and Marceline goes so far as to offer putting the reunion together for Hunson so he can enjoy himself. Hunson agrees, and the girls promises not to let him down. Hunson Abadeer shows Marceline and Marsha an old photo album, filled with photos of other Abadeer family members, and tells of past reunion activities, such as working on an old quilt, making apple fritters, seven-legged races, and the big family photo. During this, Marceline takes down mental notes of what supplies will be needed to set up those activities. Hunson Abadeer mentions looking forward to the upcoming reunion since the whole family will be getting together, and voices his concern over whether they'll be able to make it to the next. Marceline and Marsha concurs and promises to make this the most memorable family reunion ever. Hours later, Marceline is pacing back and forth in her room back at the cave. Marsha walks in, and Marceline wonders why she's still awake; Marsha wonders the same about her. Both are unable to sleep: Marceline is still anxious about the reunion, and Marsha is excited about seeing Marsh and her cousin and the fun they'll have together. Marceline gets her second wind, realizing the responsibility that Hunson Abadeer has entrusted her with, and continues brainstorming. Marsha falls asleep on the bed, and Marceline tucks her in, saying the reunion will be worth the wait.
